Objectives

The objects of our Association are:

• to promote progressive ideas on the teaching of music;
  
  
• to encourage definite preparation for the art of teaching;
  
  
• to encourage the establishment of Music Credits in connection with all school courses; and also the acknowledgement of music as part of child and adult education;
  
  
• the ultimate registration of all music teachers according to recognized musical standards;
  
  
• the encouragement among teachers of definite ethical standards of professional conduct;
  
  
• the stimulation, by means of social activities, of a spirit of collegiality among members of the profession.
