The NLRMTA is Newfoundland and Labradorís provincial music teachersí association. We offer private music teachers several opportunities throughout the year to share ideas with each other and opportunities to collaborate in promoting and enriching music education. Benefits of membership include performing opportunities for students in several recitals, participation in master classes with guest teachers, scholarships, and chances to compete locally, provincially, and nationally in performance and composition. We also provide affordable liability insurance coverage through a national provider.

Canada Music Week - 2016
The aim of Canada Music Week is to bring to the attention of the public the importance of Canadian Music. This year, Canada Music Week runs from November 21st-27th. We encourage you to introduce
contemporary Canadian music to your students of all ages, to stimulate a keener appreciation and understanding of this music.
What are the opportunities for you and your student to participate?
Student Recital - Saturday, November 26 at 5pm at Suncor Energy Hall
We would like to invite you to recommend students to perform Canadian music in this recital. Please download the application form, to be submitted to email@example.com by no later than Oct. 29.
This year, we will be inviting composers of the performed pieces to submit short video clips of their thoughts, inspirations, and comments, to be aired at the recital. This is a great opportunity for students to learn from, and be inspired by, the composers of the pieces they are performing.
Admission at the door for this recital is $5.00 per person, and a maximum of $10.00 per family. We encourage you and your students to attend.
Canadian Music - Social Media Project
This year, we are also launching a Canadian Music Facebook Project, that will begin two weeks prior to the CMW Recital. We will be posting short videos, clips, photos, etc. of students of NLRMTA members performing or participating in Canadian Music. Students (and their teachers) have the opportunity to be featured on the NLRMTA Facebook page and/or the NLRMTA website. We encourage submissions of any variety and quality.
Please download the media consent release form to be signed by the parent/guardian of the student submitted. Please send all clips directly to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
We look forward to hearing from you!
